VYRAETHIEL MOONANTLER
Birth Name: Vyraethiel
Adult Name and Family/Surname: Lady Vyraethiel Moonantler, Druid of the Antler, Leader of the Fellowship of the Stag [OOC Note: Future Archdruid]
Race: Half kaldorei, half human
Combat Training and/or Occupation: A druid who offers her skills in healing to those in need for no charge, Vyrae supports herself by selling rare herbs, inks, glyphs, and other enchantments.
Actual Age: 23
Age They Appear: Late teens/early twenties for a human, just under 100 for a night elf.
Family: None of Vyrae's family is in contact with her. She may very well have more family members than this, but isn't aware of them (message me to play a family member).
- Arch-Druid Moonantler (alive; location unknown/seeking player)
- Mother: Annabelle Moonantler (deceased/possibly undead; unknown location)
Sexuality and Marital/Lifemate Status: Heterosexual and single.
Companion(s): Vyrae has many companions whom she does not consider pets:
- Prongs & Dewdapple: Fraternal twin deer (a male and female respectively) that were orphaned by some predator and followed Vyrae home after she came across them while she was in her stag form.
- Emeraldbough: Called "Em" for short, the young treant was grown by her father around 50 years ago, and has always been Vyrae's closest companion. He has little patience for silliness, heat, evil/demons, and very rarely speaks.
- Dala'falore and Shalla
Birthplace: Nordrassil
Home: Elwynndale, in Elwynn Forest.
Personality: Youthful, driven, an eternal optimist, and not a little silly, but extremely dedicated to (and somewhat preachy about) her following of Malorne's teachings, Vyrae is still finding the balance between being a leader and maintaining a sense of self, and can thus be seen as somewhat awkward or naive. She is also woefully ignorant of most historical events that do not have a direct relation to Malorne or druidism in general. Nonetheless, she is very capable of playing the part of the no-nonsense, wise leader deven in the face of ignorance. Still, when caught off-guard or during times she is vulnerable, Vyrae may very well switch tracks and lose herself to second-guessing and self-consciousness.
Most Common Activity: Training in the druidic arts, over-seeing the Fellowship and Elwynndale, caring for her companions, and making a living with her skills in inscription.
Other Alliances/Associations: Cenarian Circle, Green Dragonflight, Druids of the Antler, Gilneas, Darnassus, the Exodar, Stormwind, the Earthen Ring, and several other "nature-involved" factions.
General Appearance: Shorter and generally curvier than even the shortest kaldorei females at 5'3" and 125 pounds, Vyrae's mixed heritage is clearly evident. Her ears are thin, with pointed tips, but much like her brows, do not extend as far outward or upward as a pure night elf's would. Instead, her brows curve gently over her eyes and her ears are no taller than the top of her head. Her skin is lavender, but prone to freckling on her cheeks, nose, arms, and chest (where the sun hits her most), though the freckles are simply a darker purple. Her eyes have very faint pupils and irises, but they are only noticeable up close. Her teeth and nails are pointed, much like all kaldorei, however. Vyrae's natural hair color, like her father, is white, but she often dyes it purple or indigo. It's usually kept tied back in a loose braid.
Most Noticeable Physical Attribute(s): Her height... or lack there of.
Common Clothing: Normally she wears simple, earthy outfits, favoring her green-leafed druid apprentice robes with her pauldrons, boots, and bracers, but no gloves. Sometimes she can be seen in a purple shirt and green linen trousers without any feet coverings at all. She may or may not be wearing the Fellowship's tabard.
Event Clothing: Usually wears a finely tailored silk dress of either light green, or deep indigo.
Combat Attire: Green and white inscribed leather, her Helm of Malorne, and the Fellowship's tabard.
Weapon(s) and Other Items: Her druid staff.
History:
YEAR 608 of the KING'S CALENDER
Vyraethiel's father was always somewhat eccentric, if talented in his chosen art. Over half-a-millenia old and without a life-mate thanks to his fervent research and (unfortunately unsuccessful) endeavor to bring back the Druids of the Antler, he grew lonely and ventured away from his home, a cottage on the outskirts of the world tree, Nordrassil, atop Mount Hyjal.
In the form of a massive bird of prey, he soared to Northrend, where he found tiny splinters of human civilization eking out an existence, constantly on the run from the newly crowned Lich King's minions. His heart broke to see the pain of the mortal beings living in constant fear, and sought to help them. Alone, he found even his power inadequate, and saw many slain. One human in particular, Annabelle Mjalsa, captured his heart. After a particularly brutal battle, he was searching for survivors, but found none until he came across the unconscious woman, her head badly wounded and an arrow sunk deep into one of her calves. As he felt his own weakness upon him, he took the human in his arms, called for his mount, and fled back to Nordrassil.
Archdruid Moonatnler took her back to his hut, where he nursed her wounds. Since he already had little contact with other kaldorei, keeping the human's presence a secret was rather easy. Over several weeks, the woman grew stronger under the night elf's care. The two fell in love, and, despite knowing the consequences, married in secret.
YEAR 610 of the KING'S CALENDER
Vyraethiel was born just as the Scourge was forming in earnest and the Burning Legion's wrath had only just begun, but high atop the World Tree, the small family and the kaldorei they lived near assumed themselves invulnerable. They raised their daughter in peace for several years.
YEAR 617 of the KING'S CALENDER
Unfortunately, the Third War broke out when Vyrae was 7, and though their people united because of it, the violence spread and Nordrassil fell under attack during the Battle of Mount Hyjal. In the chaos, Annabelle was slain by the Burning Legion's forces and the World Tree was forever changed. Though the battle was won, Archdruid Moonantler knew he could not raise a child there.
Heartbroken and fearful for the life of his child, Vyrathiel's father took to the skies, the half-elf child riding astride him. He fled to Elwynn Forest, where human refugees swarmed into Stormwind. Without a copper to his name, the druid healed tired and injured travelers free of charge while he made a home for him and his daughter in a small clearing he called Elwynndale.
Though destitute themselves, many of the refugees returned to the single father once the rebuilding of Stormwind began, and paid him back in any way they could, whether it was with coin, lumbar, clothing, or food. So many were appreciative of his kindness that he amassed a small fortune in supplies. He built up Elwynndale with his own hands, and raised Vyrae there, teaching her all he knew of the druidic arts and Malorne's teachings.
YEAR 633 of the KING'S CALENDER (Current Day)
It was only after the Iron Horde broke through the Dark Portal that her father left her alone to aid his allies, comfortable that his daughter would be able to care for herself.
Once he left, Vyrae took on the chore of keeping up Elwynndale, and found the job tedious and lonely. She began delving into inscription, since her father had had her practicing herbalism since she was small. Now, the half-kaldorei journeys across the lands to train her body and mind in order to become worthy of the order she wishes to restart, and the one she wishes to form to include others besides druids.
